Creating Tasks

Create Task

To create a task right-click on a project, version, feature or folder and select 'New Task'. If you create a task for a project the project will appear in the project backlog. If you create a task for a version then the task will be assigned to the version, etc.

The name is how the task will appear in the list. You should try and keep this as short as possible.

The summary is optional and lets you provide a more verbose description for the task.

The priority determines the ordering of tasks within the Projects view and the My Tasks view. You can change the priority of a task after it is created as described in the section called “Task Operations”.

The owner determines whether the task will appear in the My Tasks view. You can change the owner of a task after it is created as described in the section called “Task Operations”.

Note

Developers can also create tasks in the My Tasks view and the Workspace view. This is described in the User Guide.
